European Technical Support Specialist (Electromechanical & Instruments)

Our client have a vacancy for a European Technical Support Specialist (electromechanical and Instruments) to cover the range of products across our European territories. This role will ideally be based at our UK facility in Crawley. The position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians and other product support personnel in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging of complex electro/mechanical analytical instruments and supporting software.

• Provides training, including documentation, on a variety of product-related service issues to field service engineers in Europe
and where required, worldwide.

• Promotes our client service and support products to the organization.

• Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering.

• Supports customers/end users where the product is highly sophisticated or technical in nature.

• Provides Primary focus for new product introduction for Europe; including assisting in the design and development of Service-related features and functions of microcalorimetry products. Provides training and assists with initial installation when new products are introduced.

• Prepares a variety of reports, logs and documentation of activities for input to the product reliability report system. Follows up on
product quality issues.

• Establishes and maintains prompt professional communications with customers and internal resources

The successful candidate will have a combination of the following key skills, experience and knowledge:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

• Prior field service experience is essential; to include the repair and installation of company produced equipment. Alternatively
experience of a similar product line/technology.

• Proven experience of working with electromechanical and Instruments products is highly desirable.

• Excellent customer services with the ability to converse at all levels of the organization, and cross culturally essential.

• Ability and experience to deliver training programs both in house and in the field.

• Must be able to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills and be able to prioritize and organize work activities.

• Computer literate; with a solid understand of the Microsoft office products, SAP and Sales logics or similar.

• Ability to travel Europe-wide (primarily) and internationally (occasionally).
