Our client is R&D companies based in Cambridge & Luton.

As a C++ developer with either several years’ commercial experience, or at least a 2.1 honours degree, you will be skilled at designing and implementing solutions to challenging technical problems. In this job, you will be working with our existing C++ framework to implement new functionality in one or more of the following areas:

3D GUI application, Parallel mesh generation, Process integration and C++ binding to scripted languagesYou will be familiar with modern C++ design techniques and patterns including smart pointers and template programming. You should have some awareness of cross-platform development.

Our multinational client is looking for Product Application Engineer.  Being a part of Product Management team contributing in delivering high-quality, world class and robust engineering software solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and delivery of application specific demonstration cases in a timely manner in support of product management activities.
  • Work in close conjunction with the marketing team to help prepare product collateral including material for the corporate website, product brochures and flyers.
  • Provide feedback on product usability and robustness and working with the rest of the product and development teams to improve overall product quality.

Application Support Engineers (London)

Our client is multinational CAE / CFD/ FEA company based in London looking for Application Support Engineer and you will be allocated a portfolio of accounts, and will be responsible for ensuring they technically make the most out of  software products in their design and engineering simulation processes, by travelling on-site to our customers’ offices or operating remotely. As part of educating and assisting our users, you will also be involved in conducting training courses and customised mentoring.

Being successful in this role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong organisational ability to juggle several projects in one day, and a very efficient learning aptitude in order to rapidly understand the expanding applications to which CFD is employed as well as handle the rapid pace of development of Software products.

Qualifications required are an MSc or PhD in fluid mechanics related to one of the aforementioned industries, with a strong understanding of the underlying mechanics of CFD such as turbulence modelling, meshing strategies, solver schemes or heat transfer phenomena. Exposure to the following will be advantageous:

  • JAVA programming language
  • CAD packages such as CATIA v5, Pro/E, NX, SolidWorks or Inventor
  • Codes to which CFD can be coupled to such as FEA packages, 1D simulation tools, optimisation software

Fluency in Swedish, Danish or Dutch will be a distinct advantage.

Previous CFD experience in industry with a commercial code is preferred but not a requirement, we will also consider strong graduate applications.

Ensure renewal of software licenses by providing high-quality support for software customers, specialising in the area of geometry and mesh generation, structural mechanics products, fluid-thermal-structure-interaction, Workbench integration, and
Workbench scripting.

Identify sales and growth opportunities in existing accounts and assist the Sales Team by providing high-level technical expertise in
competitive sales situations and by providing technical proof where and when required.

Develop and grow the CFD business in strategic European accounts by providing high-level expertise, software and/or workflow
demonstrations, and presentations.

Prepare and enhance training material for geometry modelling, meshing, fluid or structural mechanics, result analysis, optimization, and other courses as required.

Provide training to new and existing customers.

Perform on-site customer visits (sales & customer support).

Maintain familiarity with CFD software, related third party products and competitive products.

Generate sales-supportive software applications to assist the sales team.

Generate feedback for product improvement and enhancements, and communicate to the Business Units.

Document customer support tasks in the customer support database; document and update software solutions for support requests in the customer support database.

Make recommendations for process and system improvements to the Customer & Sales Support team.
