Production Engineering Manager
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £30,000 – £50,000 depending on experience and seniority
Employment Type: Permanent
Supervise the manufacture, assembly and testing of prototype generators by third parties whilst also developing production and manufacturing plans for future production. The role will involve the development of manufacturing and production processes, specifications, schedule of works, supply chain strategy, and quality procedures. Establishing and maintaining Client as a global leader in direct drive permanent magnet generators.
Production Engineering Manager – Essential Experience:
– Proven track record, with experience of manufacturing principles and processes, within an electro-mechanical industry
– Strong focus on continuous improvement
– Planning, assembly and scheduling processes involved in large rotating machines
– Oversight and responsibility for subcontracted manufacturing
– Electrical component manufacture/assembly
– Quality standards and processes
– Working knowledge of CAD tools
– Awareness of project management techniques
– Worldwide and European travel occasionally expected
Desirable:
– Production of electrical windings/coils, Casting production, Steel fabrication, Handling permanent magnets, FMEA, Health and safety and environmental requirements, Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing, Experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering
